 | | nickf | Unbelievably poor and rude service. They might be cheap, but it's not worth it. Buy elsewhere unless you enjoy salesmen who seemingly go out of their way to not help you. | 21st Jul 2008 10:54:28 | | | Yamo | Well they don't really have salesmen. It's more like customer service and stockrooms. I have only ever had fairly good/fast service from Umart. I do especially enjoy there low prices. The only place I have seen in Brisbane that has prices as low is GameDude computers but its location is too far away for me to bother. | 24th Jul 2008 01:00:20 | | | Jim | Cheap, but rude, they serve other people before you, even if your waiting for ever, they take there time to get the items you want, parking is crap, hardly anywhere to park.... Pc Shopper is way better | 10th Jan 2009 07:59:00 | | | Carlton Benson | I will be avoiding these guys in the future. Not helpful, deny warranty claims and first and foremost, blame the customer. | 5th Feb 2009 05:37:32 | | | Tom | I bought all of the parts for a new PC off of them and I must say that they are the rudest, most inconsiderate bastards I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Not only did it take a month after payment (of $1700 might I add), that's right, I said a MONTH for them to deliver the parts, it took ANOTHER MONTH just to get the RAM replaced because it was DOA!
Should I repeat that for you? It took me a total of TWO MONTHS after ordering and paying for my parts before I could even use the damn computer that I was trying to build.
I'm no racist, but unfortunately, I do sound like one because quite frankly, the entire staff and management team are a bunch of illiterate asians who haven't the grammatical skill to even write a properly structured sentence.
Overall, please don't be lured in by their cheap prices, just so that you can save $20, because that $20 is going to cost you weeks/months of your time and ultimately leave you with a disgusting taste in your mouth. | 3rd Mar 2009 01:40:49 | | | Kathleen | I think they're great there - they're always flat out busy... they're the cheapest, sure they're no sales people - but thats not what Umart is - Umart is great. If you know what you want, and you go in and pick it up - dream come true.
And i have to take back my power supply because it was DOA but they tested it then and there and i got a brand new one that day... service was fine then.
So dont listen to ^^ try it because i think its great! | 29th May 2009 07:05:50 | | | SAQ | Took back an External Blueray drive worth $350++ because it seems not to be working on my notebook. Got my money back... no problem. Just don't make it a habit... | 23rd Sep 2009 09:48:10 | | | Dank | Never had problems with U Mart in the past. Warranty claim on a DOA video card ( made a mistake of taking it in 2 weeks before Christmas and did not see it for 6 weeks) was annoying. Great prices, service OK. Not great communicators but I'm not there to chat. I know what I want, I order it on line and pick it up on the day. In and out of the store in 10 min. Worst service in the world is down the road at Game Dud(e). Wait forever to get served, good prices, forget about warranty claims particularly if the item has more then 12 months warranty. The staff lie to you, blame you for the fault, and it take forever to get the part back. Manager is an arrogant shadow boxer that refuses to face a complaining customer. Sends out lackeys to deal with you instead. I bought a media player from them that spent 6 of the 12 months in their workshop and at the end it was only the thereat of legal action that I finally got a replacement media player which by the way died and I no longer have warranty. They look after their suppliers and not their customers. By the way the media player was Mediagate, if you want one stay away from this brand. | 29th Oct 2009 06:53:38 | | | Scottnofriends | I shop at MSY, they have 4 stores dotted around Brisbane and more around the country, they are very cheap and their customer service are excellent, I bought all my parts their, you ring in advance ask them to hold your items, you show up and they hand them to you, for a very cheap price, I built my computer for $900, and in a store like JB HI-FI that same computer would have cost $2,000+, that included a 22" LCD for $231. Have not bought a piece of hardware anywhere else. | 7th Dec 2009 04:55:46 | | | Jake | I've shopped here quite a few times in the past 12 months, bought everything to build my own PC. They're not a retailer in the traditional sense of the word - they don't have sales people like some of the other reviews like to believe. It's best to order online and pick-up once it's ready (usually only takes up to an hour at most) and then it's very quick (longest I've waited is 5 minutes). If you're after someone to walk you through the whole process like Harvey Norman, forget about it. If you know exactly what you want this place is unbeatable. It's best to email them with any questions prior to ordering. From that standpoint, their prices are unbeatable and service is very efficient. | 8th Apr 2010 01:40:26 | | | Luke | u mart is cheep and usaly very fast getting items ready to be picked up, thats it. im in my 5th week waiting for my mobo that died to be replaced, i have had basicaly no feedback from umart even tho i have caled and emailed them more times i can remmember. end of the day just hope your parts dont break down in warriny because they are no help, wish i had just sent it back to gigabyte myself | 25th May 2010 05:11:16 | | | Daniel | I just baught a new system from them. I didnt know i had to go in with the parts pre orderd but i went in nonetheless spent 2000 dollars and came out with a bargain. I think i was lucky cause the person i got at the desk was a great person, knew what he was talking about and even suggested different components that were more compatible to help installation. As this was my first pc build i was thankfull i got such good service. Although i had to wait about 10 minutes i dont blame them they had to look for my antec 1200, ati 5870, CPU, fans hard-drives etc etc. Just go in and make sure you know what you want, they sell computer parts as fast and stress free as possible. Although im not to certain about there warranty's, for the moment im hoping my parts survive. | 11th Jul 2010 05:25:25 |
